Tea and Cupcakes... {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

If I could tell you in pictures why I love photography it would be this session. I have been planning this session for months. I made 3 little outfits and bought buttons for them from the antique store. The pinwheels were made from childrens sheet music, the banner was put together, I imagined them dancing and playing, and then the session sat...in my head....for months. It was really hard for me to bring it to life in fear that it wouldn't be what I envisioned in my mind. I really feared the disappointment. Especially when I know just how much I dreamed of doing this. But thankfully I am not disappointed. I love these girls. One is mine and the other two are my sweet nieces. They had so much fun being here in this magical tea-land that they barely noticed I was taking pictures. That's what I love. A place that you dream of, that can be brought to life and captured through a lens and kept forever. It's magic.

Fifty Two on Fridays {Week 22} Water

Water. Seems pretty simple right? I really struggled with this one, maybe because it IS so simple. The obvious choice for me was taking a picture of the big beautiful lake where I live. Big Bear is all about water. Whether it's in the form of snow, streams, rain, or lakes. It's beautiful! That's why we can't wait until we get some warm weather so we can go PLAY in it. But today it was chilly so Ava danced around in the snow run-off fully clothed. She had so much fun, you should have heard her cry when I told her we had to go. My pretty drama baby, she sure loves the water.

To Infinity and Beyond... {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

To Infinity and Beyond! No, it's not Buzz Lightyear, it's just how much I love this family. There are few people in life that can make me smile at the thought of them. Joanne is one of them. She's a cherished friend and I feel blessed to have her and her family in my life. I had tried to set this family session up for a while and it was difficult because they are so busy running their awesome gym in Big Bear. {BodyTek} So finally one day I took my work calendar into the gym and handed her a pen. Success! The day was scheduled and it came up fast. They were a little nervous at first. I was, afterall, pointing a gigantic black lens in their faces. But they warmed up after a little bit and that's when the fun began! I wouldn't tell them what I had hiding in the suitcase that I lugged around with me but when I busted out the mustaches...the laughter was priceless! They were so stinkin' cute!
Wilf really rocked that mustache, don't you think? Afterward we headed over to Starbucks since they love hanging out there with their little guy. You might even find Wilf and Liam playing a board game together while they sip milk and tea. How sweet is that!? Such a beautiful family!

Prettier then Cinderella {Big Bear Lake Photography}

Cinderella Couture sessions are one of my favorites. They include a beautiful bride, awesome locations, and no pressure, just lots of fun. What is it you ask? Most people call these sessions "Trash The Dress". After the Bride has been married we get together so that she can wear her dress again. Only this time the goal is artistic shots that are most often times un-obtainable during the craziness of the acutal wedding day. I met Mrs. Jonni about 8 months ago when I did her engagement portraits. They were such a sweet couple (and good looking too). So I was excited to do her Cinderella Couture session. I had such a good time with Jonni laughing about who knows what. I tried saying really really silly things to make her laugh. Sometimes they worked, and well, sometimes they just sounded...silly. It was so super fun! Thank you Jonni! You rocked this session! And if it's even possible to prettier then a fairytale princess, you are.

Little Diva Boutique {Big Bear Photography}

I recently got the most fabulous box in the mail, filled with beautiful hair pieces from a very sweet businees owner on Etsy. I had my niece Hailey over for a few hours so with a few jelly beans and the promise of ripping apart some flowers she obliged to sit still for me while I snapped some portraits of her. Hailey is one of my favorite little people to photograph so it's lucky that I have unlimited access to her. :) Aren't the head pieces divine!?

Sweet Baby Allie and her Big Sister Anna

Last week....I had the company of these beautiful little girls and their super sweet parents. Little Allie started off sleeping so good and then she decided she wanted to be wide awake the rest of the time. I lost natural light when the sun decided to make an entrance into my shooting zone, argh! But I was able to use some strobes instead. Little Anna had so much fun playing with my Ava. Ava had such a great time that she even mentioned Anna today. Thank you for coming all the way to Big Bear sweet family. I had a really nice time with you! xoxo

Fifty Two on Fridays {Week 19} Album Cover

This week for our Friday project we had to choose a song and create an album cover for it. Even though I knew which song I wanted to do for weeks I procrastinated until the last minute and it didn't turn out like I saw it in my head but I think it still works. LOL! This song is so sweet to me and anyone that knows us would be able to see why this fits. My husband adores me and our kids. He adores all the crazyness that makes me, me. Like when I brought home the bearded dragon and then later asked myself why in the world I did that. Or the time I brought home the bunnies because I needed props but then also thought they'd make great pets for the kids. I was wrong. He smiled. In this picture my husband is adoring all the craziness that is us. You'll see a bearded dragon on my shoulder, a bunny in my other hand, a little dog hiding in the pillows from the WILD big dog and 2 beautiful children enjoying every minute. This is us. Thank you Lord.
