Little Red Riding Hood {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photography}

I took a break at the beginning of the Winter to just breath and be inspired again, Little Red was one of the shoots I started planning first. I contacted a talented designer and owner of Purdy Things on Etsy to make me a hood and wrist warmers, I bought a dress off the internet, boots off of Ebay, sewed a cape, and just started collecting items to make the session happen. All I needed was a little bit of snow. Well this Winter was really sparce with the snow when I needed it so it took a while to make this all happen. We couldn't book a Wolf in time so we used our new bunny Kingston. :)
My little model is precious and talented. I've worked with her before and consider her to be family. She is absolutely amazing in front of the camera and really only needs a little direction and the rest is all her. She's a little diamond. So finally here is Red in all her beauty. Thank you Miss Sophia, you're a stunner and a joy. I love you!

Kaitlyn Nicole {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photography}

I met little Kaitlyn and her sweet parents this past Friday. I wasn't supposed to meet them until the 10th but Kaitlyn had her own plans. I admit that I was already having such a busy and a little bit of rough week so when the appointment came I was a little nervous. See, we photographers (lol) have certain tricks that usually work in keeping a newborn sleepy and happy but every once in a while they just don't work. I was sure, because of my week already, that she wasn't going to sleep.
I. was. wrong. She slept so good and she was so sweet. She was just a little cupcake. Her parents were so sweet too and Mommy did so good at helping when I needed her. Thank you so much S and W for coming up here to my neck of the woods with your gorgeous little blessing! It was a pleasure meeting you!

Fifty Two on Fridays {Week 9} Family

This week has been a whirlwind with sessions and more sessions. I had this great idea of photographing my own little family on our couch and *maybe* finally trying to master my self timer...but no. The deadline came and so here I am. I'm sharing this picture that I took of the balloons that we sent my little brother on his birthday. My little brother Dustin passed away two years ago of brain cancer so every year on his birthday we send him little notes tied to balloons. I know he's in Heaven and I know he doesn't get them, but I need to remember him this way. It's just my little thing. I'll do it every year. He's the family I miss. The family I wish that I had more time with.

Jenna & Jacob {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photography}

I first met Jenna and Jacob back in August when they were just a few days old. They were very special participants in my first baby workshop. They were so teeny tiny and they were so good for all the attendants. I couldn't wait to see them again. I was super impressed by their Mommy who, no doubt didn't get as much sleep as most of the rest of us. She bought them adorable little outfits, got them ready to come to Big Bear, which for them is over a 2 hour drive, she was here on time, and did it all by herself. I'm tired just thinking about what she went through to get here. Kudos Cassie! The babies weren't very impressed by the outcome of their long drive though. Little Jenna didn't really have a lot of smiles left to give to me after they got here but her mama and I did our best to entertain them and get atleast a few great shots. It was so nice to see you and the babies again Cassie!!! Here is a little sneak peek to hopefully make you feel better about your crazy day! lol!

Baby Michael...Finally. {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photography}

Ahhhh, baby Michael. This precious little chubs belongs to one of my really good friends. I photographed his birth 6 months ago, it was the first birth I had ever seen and it was amazing. I didn't think I'd cry.....I totally choked up. In the chaos of life though I haven't seen them since. They live a few hours away and it always seems like there is NEVER enough time. FINALLY though, a visit happened last weekend. Summer and all her kids descended on my house in all their cuteness and I was finally able to photograph Michael. I still cannot believe I didn't get to do his newborn session, but I guess a birth session is about as newborn as they get. LOL! Here he is, practically all grown up. Gosh it happens all too fast. Love you chubs!

The Gift of a Sister....{Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

I've fallen behind on blog posts! It's so hard to keep up sometimes but I'm happy to be sharing these now. I had these beautiful girls in for some studio time a few weeks ago and they did so good for me. I love when I establish a relationship with a family because every time they come they just get better and better. The first time I met these girls they really wanted nothing to do with me. Now I hear "Miss Rebecca, I love you." Awe! Melt my heart! Anyways, this family is dear to me and I couldn't wait to share what we were able to capture......
