Valentine Cuties.... {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

I set up my studio which is an amazing moment since I haven't done that in so long! I was really looking forward to getting some cute pictures of my kids for Vday. I also got a really nice package in the mail from Meredith of Cocolicious Couture and it couldn't have come at a more perfect time! The headbands she made are just beautiful and super good quality too!

I am bummed out to say that I don't have any of my little man, once again! He's still sick! I really hope he gets better soon, it's heartbreaking!
So we had a girl party in the morning with sweet Zali, Hailey, and Ava and Zali's mommy too! Then in the afternoon my dear friend's little man came over and also my nephew Jacob. It was a busy day!! But I'm super happy with how it all went so here are a few to share with you! Thanks for looking!

Fifty Two on Fridays {Week 4} - Simple

World: Meet Ali Bear
Ali is Ava's dearest toy. Ava will not think of going to bed at night without Ali. Ali has traveled to 9 states this Summer. She has been on countless car rides and had many naps snuggled in the arms of her owner. Ali is also in desperate need of a bath but I can't bring myself to wash her. There is something so sweet and nostalgic about the dirt left behind by the little loving hands of sweet Ava. You see, Ali was given to Ava at court on the day her adoption was finalized. Ava most likely doesn't rembember it but it's amazing to me that out of all the dolls and stuffed toys Ava could have attached her affections to, it's this one. A perfect gift, on a perfect day, for a perfect child. A simple bear with big meaning.

Baby Travis {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

I was so excited to meet baby Travis. I consider his Mommy my sister so I was waiting to meet a new little family member. He is soooo darn cute and so sweet. The only light that I could use was shining directly on the bed in their master bedroom so I actually set up my floors and everything right over their bed! I loved it because usually I am on my knees at a newborn session. Hmmmm, maybe I'll do this every time! LOL! He was a pretty good sleeper even though he did not want me to touch his hands and arms, he made that very clear. It's going to be so fun to watch him grow. Mom, Dad, and his big brother are enjoying every minute with him! So fun!

and his new little wrinkles, they are so sweet!

"M" is for Miracle.... {Big Bear Lake Arrowhead Photographer}

Sweet baby M entered the world more then 3 months shy of full term. She weighed a little over one pound at birth and stayed in the hospital for 3 months. Mommy and Daddy got to bring her home just before Thanksgiving to celebrate the Holidays. She is growing so fast and Mommy is doing an awesome job feeding her. She gained lots of weight being at home in loving arms. The Lord has blessed them with baby M and I was excited to meet her! I was pretty nervous about her session though, because even though she was only 7lbs, she was already 3 months old. Usually they don't sleep at all at a photo session at that age unless you get lucky. But I choose to think that baby M wanted Mommy to have beautiful pictures of her because she knows that Mommy is a photography FAN. I have never seen more professional photographs in one home in my life. As soon as I walked in I knew I was in a good place. It was so nice to meet you again T and to be trusted with capturing your precious miracle. Congratulations!

Fifty Two on Fridays {Week 3}

JOY....
Why I struggled with this word I don't know. I can call to mind a million things that bring me joy. Maybe I didn't want to cut the word short by choosing something too simple? It's such a little word but it has such big meaning and impact on our lives. Without it there is really no spontaneous happiness. Soooooo, me trying to be so thoughtful about the word left myself no time to actually do something about it. I had to figure something out last minute. I had a super cute idea but it was too cold...that left me plan B. So I took the kids out to play but before we left I thought I'd print out some paper mustaches. Let me just say that a paper mustache can bring a lot of joy! Who knew?

52 Fridays {a year long photography journey}

I am so excited to tell you about my 52 week project that I am taking part in this year. 19 other photographers and I are doing our project together so you are in for a big treat. We have a list of 52 “ideas or themes” we have to shoot each week for the year. I will take a picture of our theme for the week, the way I interpret it, and post it on my blog. Then under my post, I will link another photographer who is part of the project for you to see her interpretation of the theme. After you see hers, you will notice a different link under her picture that will then take you to the next photographer’s website. If you continue to click on the link under each picture, in the end you should see 18 other pictures and eventually make it back to my site. You will be introduced to some amazingly talented photographers. I'm sooooo excited!



This week’s assignment was a self portrait. These self portrait pictures will allow you to see the photographers who are doing this project and put a face to a name. I honestly loathe being on the other side of the camera. When I was younger I was the queen of self pics. I used to joke that I was going to invent an arm-thingy so that I could hold my point and shoot out a little farther then my own arm could reach! It's true. But now...NO WAY. I hate it, I'm awkward.
