I can tell by my own blog post titles that I'm trying to get back to the basics. hehe. Life has just been too crazy and so in my resolve to slow down I'm feeling really nostalgic and, well...simple. I worked in my son's classroom today and it was great. I would never have had the time a week ago. When I was done I was driving home and for a second I had a moment of panic and thought..."shoot! What am I supposed to be doing that I'm forgetting about!!?" and then I realized...oh yeah...nothing! Weird. Anyway, I am really hoping to get cozy with slowing down.

It's snowing! It's snowing!
The very first snow of the year!
It's the showiest, blowiest, snowiest snow--
The snow is finally here!
It's brisk and it's breezy;
It's frosty and freezy;
It's creamy and dreamy and clean.
It's drifty and sifty
And perfectly nifty.
It's the prettiest stuff that we've seen!
It's softer than kittens;
It melts on your mittens;
It's hushy and shushy and bright
It's softer than silk
And whiter than milk.
It's crispy and wispy and light!
It's the very first snow of the year!
It's the showiest, blowiest, snowiest

Giving Thanks for New Life.....Khloe {Southern California Newborn Photographer}

This past week I was blessed with a session with sweet, 8 day old, baby Khloe and her adorable family. They drove over 2 hours to get to me and I am impressed that baby slept the entire way. She didn't really want to sleep for me due to the great nap but I was able to sweet talk her a little bit and hopefully captured moments that they'll love forever. Her big sister Paige was so cute and soooo photogenic. I hope to photograph Paige in the future for one of my {S4M} series. And hello, Khloe was just 8 days old, look at how beautiful her mama is! It was so lovely to meet you H family, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

S4M {Big Bear Photographer}

{S4M}.....what the heck does that mean!? Well....it means {Shooting 4 Me}. I am beginning a series in my photography journey where I'll give myself a series of artistic visions and challenge myself to complete them. My vision, my way. No deadlines, no rules. All mine. I've been so busy with the business aspect that I have lost a little bit of the joy in the journey. Busy-ness has a way of sucking the excitement out of us before we even realize it. And that's where I find myself. So i'm excited to see what I can do and what I come up with. I hope that you will follow me on this journey and add a word or two to help me along the way. I appreciate each and every person that comes here and shows support and is interested in my work. It means so much!

Here is one of my daughter to kick things off. She was sitting so pretty on a stone wall after our car accident on Monday. I love my little girl so much. She is the whip cream on every day. My heart can't possibly smile bigger when she is around...unless of course, she is whining. ;)

Baby Jacob {Big Bear Child Photographer}

I've been spending a lot of time with a some of my nephews lately and it's been fun. Well, most of it is fun! I've had my little 6 month old nephew, Jacob, for a week or so and waking up in the middle of the night IS NOT fun. But the smiles and giggles and all the love are so worth it. I am really blessed to get to know him at such a little age. Last week I had his older brother Brenden and took him out to this very place for photographs so today it was a little warmer then it's been so I rushed Jacob out to the spot to get some of him too. When I say "warmer" I mean 44 degrees! We got him out for 2 minutes, got what I could, put him in the car with the heater full blast and then got him out again for 2 minutes. It was insane and I only got a few good ones but they were worth it I think. Thanks for stopping by! God Bless!

Blossoming Love..... {engaged} ( Big Bear Photographer)

I had a really great time photographing these two a few weeks ago for their engagement. They were super sweet and were up for anything.
