Just a few more of baby Camryn... {Big Bear photographer, newborn, child, family, wedding}

I just couldn't help but share a few more of this tiny sweet baby. I had a lot of fun taking her out to locations. I only wish I could do it all day all the time. So much fun! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

This location is magical at the right time of day, this was not that time though. I had to be really careful of the sun and sweet Aunt Annette is off to the right holding up a giant 5x6 reflector. I wouldn't be too surprised if her arms were a little sore today. Thanks again Annette!

This location was in someone's front yard. It was tricky to shoot since right behind the baby was the owner's truck and house so I didn't have very many angle options. When we pulled up the owner was in her yard pulling weeds from among this native flower. She was gracious enough to let us sort of step all over them (even though we were careful).

Four days old and loving the outdoors already.. {Big Bear Photographer, newborn, child, family, wedding}

This little beauty was driven 1.5 hours from Riverside by her sweet Mama and Auntie to visit me today. We had to keep the session in the mid-afternoon to make sure that it would still be warm enough for baby Camryn to be outside. It was tricky to find some good light among the harsh sunlight but we managed to find little pockets here and there. Her Aunt was the best shade maker for me too when she held my giant reflector up to block the sun from the baby. Thanks girls for coming today! It was so nice to meet you and photograph baby Camryn. She's beautiful and you are truly blessed!
Here is just one from today....

The lemon lens redeems itself with a new one! {Big Bear Photographer, newborn, child, family, wedding}

A few weeks ago my hubby gave me the thumbs up to go ahead and get a new lens. It's a special lens that would be just perfect for weddings, especially those heart filled candid moments. So to save a few Ben Franklins (hundreds) :) I bought one used. Well the camera supply store didn't really know what a quality portrait should consist of I guess and sold me a lens that had been dropped! Gasp. The lens weighs like 40lbs! Okay so maybe not 40 but it weighs a lot and it's as long as Pinnochio's nose...AFTER he lied. It's huge. So sadly I had to return it and wait for the new replacement but one thing I've learned with age is that just because a time seems bad doesn't mean it actually is....there could be something better just ahead. And yeee haw! This lens is the Daddy of lenses. I love it already and of course bribed the kids to let me take their pictures. These are a few of my faves with the new lens and the mini-bribery shoot.

Sneak Peek for the "M" family! {Big Bear Lake, Southern California Photographer}

I had a really great time with the "M" family on Saturday. We had to cancel our original date a month ago due to the crazy weather in May but we finally made it happen and the weather was good. A little hot but soooo much better then the 53 degrees on the last date. And due to the fly experience the day before with the twins I took my butt to Target and got some heavy duty bug spray for all of us. I grabbed a nice looking family bottle and then the heavy duty hunter spray. I pretty much took a shower in the hunter stuff. :) And it worked so YAY! This family is sooo sweet. So laid back and just plain sweet. The baby is one of the prettiest babies i've ever seen. She's got the prettiest plump lips and the biggest eyes ever. I knew she was going to make my camera happy. She was pretty serious for most of the session but I managed to steal a few precious smiles from her. I love how her serious pouty face looks so vintage. And a fun fact about this session....I went to Jr. High with her Daddy! What a small world. It was so good to spend that time with you M family, thanks for a great session! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Mean mean photographer, bad mean photographer! {Big Bear CA photographer, newborn, child, family, wedding}

I just got back from possibly the worst weekend ever. Don't you hate when everything goes so smoothly in your mind but then the actual occurences really put you in a spin? Ugh, that was my weekend. I had been to this location before but it was in late winter/early spring....I guess it was right before all the little nasty black flies hatched! I took the twins here and lo' and behold we were getting eaten alive. I didn't really know there was a problem until late that night after the session when my eyes nearly swelled shut and my arms and hand swelled up. I was having a severe allergic reaction to the fly bites! I showed the pharmacist and he was kinda grossed out. The worst part was that when mom and dad got the girls home one of them was covered in bites too. I don't think she was allergic, thank God, but they itch like heck and it's miserable. I feel awful and wanted to be sure to post something positive from the session from He** so that hopefully they forgive me! I got to photograph Lucille and Grace when they were just born and it was so fun to see them again. They are beautiful little bundles and hopefully they won't scream when they see me coming next time. Sorry girls! I love you!
