I finished editing sweet baby Jacob! Woot! Now my sister will get to see why she had to watch all the kids in a small room for 3 hours while I got to play with her new baby! *snicker* hehe!
I didn't take too much with me. It was a last minute decision to go since he was already exactly 3 weeks old the day of the shoot and I knew that the "newborn" window was hanging on by a sliver. The trip was also 2.5 hours in one direction and I did it all in one day.....last minute. I know, I'm a nut. That's the artist AND Auntie in me. I love being an Aunt it's the next best thing to being a Mommy. I love to see my nephews and niece and hold them and tickle them and torture them with fun love a little. It brings me so much joy. So while the day was quite a journey to tackle it was soooo worth it. Jacob fought me for the whole first two hours and made is so hard but the last hour was golden and he slept deep and happy...too deep in fact for me to prop him on his arms...yep he decided to be super floppy at that precise moment. Little Stinker!!! I love shooting for friends and family because I have a pressure free freedom in editing so here of course I went for my true love and did a vintage vibe. Vintage makes my heart smile. :)

I can't wait to see you again Jacob!!

Just one peek of Baby Jacob {Big Bear Photographer, newborn, family, child, wedding}

I shared a few weeks ago about my new little nephew who had to stay in the NICU for a week on oxygen...but now he is HOME. He is healthy and happy and totally cute! I took a drive to go and see him before he was too big for newborn shots. Good thing I went that day because I think that was quite likely the very last day for any chance of a good session. He really, and I mean REALLY made me work for these. I didn't take a lot with me because it was supposed to be a quick trip all in one day but I did get lots of sweet shots of him that I'm happy with. Here is one...with lots more to come soon!

Good Morning Kim!! (Big Bear Photographer, Newborn, Family, Child, Wedding)

I recently had a very fun session with a local family that I've really been enjoying getting to know. I was happy to photograph Kim's beautiful daughters about a month ago and just as happy to photograph her whole beautiful family the other day. I wanted to edit one and post a little peek for her. She is such a sweetheart that every morning when she gets on the computer she heads over to my blog to help my SEO!!! Okay, now that is sweet! So it's 1am right now and I'm hoping she checks it in the morning and gets a wonderful surprise! I feel like I'm having a surprise bday party and we're all going to yell, you guessed it, SURPRISE! LOL!

BEGGIN my kids for a minute...... (Big Bear newborn, child, family, wedding, photographer)

And do I mean BEGGING! I had a sad night last week. There was no particular reason. I know it was just because I am a woman and there are times when we feel sad and there is no explanation. It's hard to be a woman! So to battle the blues I had to make something and one of my favorite things to do is make clothes for my daughter Ava. I know you'll snicker at what I'm about to tell you, and I get it, but I waited so long to have kids and having a daughter is so.much.fun. I'm like that dog in the movie UP, it's talking and then all of sudden "SQUIRRRREL!!!", except for me it's "Hi, how are.."PINK!!!" and I'm gone! Okay so the snickering part comes when you find out that I ordered labels so that Ave could have her own clothing line. I know!!!! But it's sooooo fun!
Anyway, I begged the kids to go into the backyard today and take a few pics with me. They agreed, sort of. The sun was awful but I don't care, they are mine and any picture I can nab of them is priceless.

Connor is usually a smiley little guy but when I nabbed this face I instantly loved it! And the bottom right two pics, that was Ava when I told her she was done. I am guessing that is how she really felt. Bwahhahahaaha!
